What the Site Does
You can search a gamertag and see the names and skins we have recorded for that player, browse skins other people are wearing, and find a Bedrock server to play on. That is the whole of it.
We are not a server, not a launcher, not a mod and not a shop. Nothing here is downloaded and nothing here changes your game (except maybe if you're adding servers to your game through us).
We Are Not Official
LecternMC is not affiliated with Mojang Studios or Microsoft, and nothing on this site is official. Minecraft is their trademark and the game assets belong to them.
We will never ask for your Microsoft password. If anything anywhere asks for it outside Microsoft's own sign-in page (which we redirect you to if we need to, for example, when connecting your Xbox account to your profile.), that is somebody trying to take your account.
Where the Data Comes From
Two places. Servers running our ingest API report the players they see, and a gamertag can also be resolved through Geyser's public lookup when somebody searches for one.
Everything we hold about a player is what Minecraft already shows everyone on the same server, which is the gamertag, the Xbox ID and the skin. We do not hold anybody's email, password or Microsoft account.
Is This the Bedrock Version of NameMC
That is a fair way to put it. NameMC covers Java, the Bedrock side has never had a good equivalent, and that gap is the reason this exists.
The differences come from the platform rather than from us. A Bedrock player is an Xbox account rather than a separate Minecraft one, so the name history we can show is the history of a gamertag, and a Java username is never found here. We are not connected to NameMC in any way.
Whether You Need an Account
You do not. Searching players, browsing skins and finding a server all work signed out, and always will.
An account is for contributing, which means uploading a skin, listing a server, or leaving a review. You have to be at least 13 to have one.
If your gamertag is here and you would rather it was not, you can have it taken down. Removing a Player Profile covers how, and you do not need an account to ask.
