Why It Is Not Here Yet
Because nothing has shown us your gamertag yet. We are not connected to Microsoft and we cannot list Xbox accounts, so a player only appears here after something has told us they exist.
How a Player Gets Here
There are two ways in, and both of them start somewhere other than us.
- A server running our ingest API reported seeing you
- Somebody searched your gamertag and our live lookup found it
Neither happens on its own. If you have only played on servers that do not report to us, and nobody has looked you up, there is nothing here to find yet.
Search for It Once
Searching a gamertag we do not already hold runs a live lookup, so the search that comes up empty is usually the thing that fixes it.
- Step 1. Open the search on the home page
- Step 2. Type the gamertag exactly as it appears in game
- Step 3. Press Search and give it a moment
If the lookup finds you, your profile is built from what it returns and stays on the site from then on. Keeping it up to date after that is a separate thing, covered in Refreshing an Out of Date Name or Skin.
If It Still Finds Nothing
Check the spelling first. Near misses only work for players we already hold, so a gamertag we have never seen has to be typed the way it is in game, spaces and all.
Past that, the gamertag either does not exist or has never been seen by anything that reports to us. There is no list to be added to and nothing to unlock.
If you removed your player profile yourself, it stays removed. We keep an unreadable marker afterwards so a server reporting you cannot rebuild the page.
